It is widely accepted that movement can help improve our wellbeing, quality of life, functional capacity, sporting performance and more.
Unfortunately, due to today’s “toxic fitness culture”, which intertwines “grind culture”, moral superiority, fear of fat, exclusivity, control, all-or-nothing approaches, miseducation, social media influencers, physical image over wellbeing, performance at any cost, etc, it is not surprising that movement is not always synonymous with these life-enhancing outcomes.
Autonomy In Movement represents an overdue culture shift in the movement space. ALL bodies of ALL backgrounds and ALL abilities are welcome at AIM as we work to bring autonomy, bravery, safety, equity and enjoyment back into movement!
Autonomy In Movement is proudly owned and operated on Jagera and Turrbul land. We acknowledge Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have since passed away.
